The LCP’s internal hammer-fired, double-action-only system uses a single-strike design that resets only when the slide cycles. Controls are straightforward with a left-side magazine release, manual slide hold-open, and a takedown pin. The recessed internal hammer and rear-only slide serrations maintain its smooth, snag-resistant profile.
Its through-hardened alloy-steel slide and alloy-steel barrel pair with a one-piece, glass-filled nylon frame molded with the RUGER logo. Both the slide and frame wear a tan finish, and the slide is marked "LCP" while the barrel hood is marked ".380 AUTO."
