This CMMG MkW-15 Anvil XBE2 is a purpose-built .458 SOCOM AR-15 platform that uses CMMG's mid-size MkW receivers and PowerBolt system with an AR-10–diameter bolt face. It features a 16.1 in 416 stainless steel barrel that is nitrided and threaded, a Geissele SSA two-stage trigger, and a free-float 15 in CMMG RKM15 KeyMod handguard with a full-length top Picatinny rail. The rifle is optics-ready and includes an adjustable gas block and CMMG's SV two-chamber muzzle brake.

The MkW-15 Anvil XBE2 is engineered for the .458 SOCOM using CMMG's mid-size receivers and PowerBolt system that employs an AR-10–diameter bolt face. This setup is designed to handle the larger case head while maintaining AR-15 pattern magazine compatibility with single-column feed.
The 16.1 in barrel is 416 stainless steel, nitrided for durability, and threaded 5/8x32. It runs a carbine-length gas system with an adjustable gas block accessible through the handguard, allowing gas tuning for different loads. A CMMG SV two-chamber muzzle brake with top ports is installed.
The handguard is a free-float 15 in CMMG RKM15 KeyMod made from aluminum, paired with a flat-top upper that has a brass deflector and dust cover and omits a forward assist. A full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail provides a continuous mounting surface, and the rifle is optics-ready.
Controls and furniture include a Geissele SSA two-stage trigger, a Magpul MOE 6-position collapsible stock, and a polymer beavertail AR-type grip. The rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement action with a manual safety.
