The 280’s forward-of-trigger magazine position is optimized for flush-seated wadcutters, feeding a 5-round magazine for a 5+1 capacity. Its straight blowback action and reciprocating bolt, visible through the ejection port, reflect the model’s focus on reliable, repeatable cycling with target ammunition.
The pistol combines a steel barrel with a synthetic (carbon) composite frame and an anodized aluminum-alloy receiver to balance rigidity and weight. An under-barrel segmented weight system is installed, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the pistol’s balance to preference. Overall length is approximately 300 mm, with an unloaded weight near 1.20 kg.
Sighting options are versatile: a fully adjustable micrometer rear sight and an interchangeable-height front blade provide fine control, while the factory irons remain in place beneath the included bridge mount. The Tasco ProPoint delivers a clear red dot reticle for rapid sight acquisition when desired.
Ergonomics are tailored for precision pistol work, with an orthopedic right-hand wooden target grip and an adjustable palm shelf to establish a repeatable hand position. The sight radius is approximately 220 mm, supporting precise alignment for sustained-accuracy strings.
