This Browning PRO-40 is a discontinued, U.S.-made, full-size .40 S&W pistol with factory "Made in USA" and Browning Arms Co., Morgan, Utah markings. Built with a matte stainless slide over a black polymer frame, it carries a 4 inch barrel and 14+1 capacity. As Browning's counterpart to the FN FNP-40, it features ambidextrous decocking and slide stop levers, an integral accessory rail, and dovetailed sights.

The PRO-40 uses a DA/SA system with a curved trigger shoe and an external, skeletonized hammer. It incorporates ambidextrous decocking levers and slide stop levers for mirrored control, along with a left-side, push-button magazine release.
Its stainless steel slide wears a matte finish, paired with a durable black polymer frame. An integral accessory rail with a single cross-slot is molded into the dust cover. The textured polymer grips include interchangeable backstraps, and Browning Buckmark logos are molded into the panels.
Sights are dovetailed: a front blade and a rear square notch, both set in dovetails for secure mounting.
Chambered in .40 S&W with a 4 inch barrel and a 14+1 capacity, this early-2000s model represents Browning's U.S.-made, polymer-frame DA/SA line and is the Browning-marked counterpart to the FN FNP-40.
