Manufactured in 1928 at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, this rifle is an ex-Dragoon conversion to the Model 1891/30 pattern and is made in Russia. It bears the Izhevsk factory crest and arrow-in-triangle emblem on the barrel shank, along with an importer stamp on the left receiver flat referencing "91/30."
The hex receiver is forged steel and blued, paired with a bolt body and knob left in-the-white and a straight bolt handle. It is chambered in 7.62x54R and uses a fixed internal magazine with a 5+1 capacity that is designed for stripper-clip loading.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock with a glossy shellac finish, grasping groove, unlined wooden sling slots (no metal escutcheons/liners), and a steel buttplate. A full-length hardwood handguard and two spring-retained barrel bands complete the classic Mosin-Nagant configuration.
Sighting is via iron sights: a front post and a rear tangent/ladder graduated in meters. The barrel measures 28.7 in, and the length of pull is 13.5 in, providing the traditional handling profile associated with the 91/30 pattern.
