The P7 PSP uses HK's gas-delayed blowback system with a fixed, cold hammer forged polygonal barrel and a fluted chamber. This setup, combined with the striker-fired mechanism and squeeze-cocking frontstrap, defines the model's distinctive operation and safety system.
As a PSP-configuration pistol, it retains the heel-release magazine catch and omits an external slide-stop lever on the frame. The slide has top anti-glare serrations, and the steel fixed 3-dot sights use a white-dot post up front and a white-dot notch at the rear for a clear sight picture.
Made in Germany and import-marked by HK Inc. Sterling VA, this pistol carries the German eagle over N nitro proof and the Ulm proof house antler, along with the HK "KE" date code for 1994. The left side of the slide is marked "HECKLER & KOCH GMBH OBERNDORF/N MADE IN GERMANY" and "9mmx19," while the right side shows the importer mark. The slide and frame have matching serial numbers.
Factory dimensions list an overall length of 6.54 in, height of 5.00 in, and width of 1.14 in. Unloaded weight without the magazine is 1.73 lb. Capacity is 8+1 with the included single-stack magazines, and the pistol wears black textured polymer grips.
