Built on Ruger’s stainless steel frame with a satin stainless finish, the Alaskan pairs a compact 2.50-inch barrel with the robust Super Redhawk architecture. The cold hammer-forged barrel and 1:20 RH twist support accuracy and longevity in a hard-use revolver.
The 6-shot fluted cylinder uses Ruger’s triple-locking system for secure alignment at the front, rear, and bottom, and the revolver operates in double-action/single-action with an external hammer. A transfer bar provides added safety without altering the trigger pull characteristics.
Sight regulation is straightforward with an adjustable square-notch rear and a pinned front sight. The Hogue Tamer Monogrip in black rubber adds finger grooves and an internal recoil cushion for confident control with magnum loads.
At 7.62 inches overall length and 45 ounces, this Alaskan balances compact dimensions with mass that helps manage recoil. It is chambered for .44 Rem Magnum and will also fire .44 Special.
