Product Description

Remington Model 14 .35 Rem Pump-Action Takedown Rifle, 22 Inch Barrel, Walnut, Polished Bright/Patina (Heavy Finish Loss)

This Remington Model 14 in .35 Rem stands out as a classic, U.S.-made pump-action rifle from the 1912–1934 era with its marked takedown construction and distinctive spiral/fluted tubular magazine. The receiver is factory marked "MODEL 14," and the barrel legend lists Remington Ilion Works with multiple Pedersen patent numbers. This example also features period-style open sights and walnut furniture, along with noted non-factory additions documented below.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: There is widespread finish wear and patina across the metal surfaces. Scattered small areas of pitting are present. The bore is shiny with defined rifling. The receiver and much of the magazine tube/pump bar are polished bright (in the white) with only traces of original blue and gray patina remaining.

    What's Included
    • Remington Model 14 pump-action rifle chambered in .35 Remington

The Model 14 is a takedown rifle with a large slotted takedown screw on the receiver, making transport and maintenance straightforward for this design. It retains the standard 22-inch barrel and an approximate 6-round capacity, with catalog references placing its weight at about 6 lb.

Its spiral/fluted tubular magazine is specifically marked "35" and "PAT'D. NOV. 5, 1912," reflecting the model’s distinctive magazine design. The receiver is marked "MODEL 14," and the barrel legend carries Remington Ilion Works along with multiple Pedersen patent numbers.

Furniture is classic walnut, including a plain semi-pistol-grip stock (no separate grip cap) and a ribbed walnut fore-end. Sighting is via open iron sights: a blade/bead front on a low base and an open rear with a stepped elevator. Metal shows heavy finish loss; large areas are polished bright (in the white) with remnants of blue and gray patina.

Two non-factory features are present: the right side of the receiver was drilled and tapped in the past, with the holes now plug-screwed, and the left receiver carries an inlaid headstamp-style disc reading "REM-UMC 35 REM." These additions are documented and part of this rifle’s current configuration.
