What’s Included
- Remington Model 11-48 Field 20 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun
Remington’s first post-WWII autoloading shotgun, the Model 11-48 uses a Browning-derived long-recoil system. The Field configuration shown here was produced within the model’s 1949–1960s run and is roll-marked on the receiver “Remington 11-48.” The barrel is marked “20 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS.”
This 20 gauge example has a 28-inch plain barrel with a Modified choke and a 2 3/4 inch chamber. It feeds from the bottom and ejects to the right, with a capacity of 2+1. A single bead front sight provides a simple, proven sighting reference suited to field use.
The shotgun combines a blued steel receiver and barrel with walnut furniture. The pistol-grip stock and matching walnut forend feature cut checkering, and the stock is finished with a “Remington” hard buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, and a magazine cap is fitted at the muzzle end of the forend.
Controls are straightforward, including a cross-bolt safety. This U.S.-made Model 11-48 Field delivers the classic handling characteristics of the platform with clean lines and practical field features.
