This pre-WWII vz. 24 was manufactured by Zbrojovka Brno in 1938 and bears the Czechoslovak lion crest on the receiver ring with a matching 1938 military acceptance on the rail. Built on the large-ring Mauser 98 pattern with controlled-round-feed and a non-rotating claw extractor, it retains the classic service configuration with a full-length hardwood stock, protected front sight, and metric tangent rear sight.

Built on a large-ring Mauser 98 pattern receiver, this vz. 24 features a non-rotating claw extractor and controlled-round-feed. It has a straight bolt handle with a round knob, a three-position flag safety, and a fixed internal 5-round magazine fed by stripper clips. The barrel measures 23.23 in.
The stock is a full-length hardwood type with a right-side grasping groove, an upper handguard, and a stock bolt disassembly disk. Service hardware includes left-side sling provisions with a butt sling bar and band swivel, plus a bayonet lug on the front band/nosecap.
Sighting equipment consists of a tangent rear sight with a sliding cursor and metric graduations, paired with a protected front blade with ears. These iron sights are correct for the model and era.
Markings include the Czech lion crest on the receiver ring and a Czechoslovak military acceptance marked "E3–lion–38" on the left receiver rail, indicating 1938 Brno acceptance. The rifle retains a blued finish on the receiver and barrel, with the bolt left bright/in-the-white as originally produced; some small parts such as the nosecap and barrel bands are in the white or show wear to white.
