It is a DA/SA, blowback-operated .22 LR pistol with an aluminum-zinc alloy slide over a fixed steel barrel, an integral accessory rail, and a 3-dot sight system with a screw-adjustable rear. The pistol comes with the factory-labeled case, manual, and six 10-round aftermarket magazines.

The Mosquito features a 4.9-inch steel barrel with factory threading and an included thread protector, giving it added versatility for muzzle devices. The aluminum-zinc alloy slide carries the Desert Digital camo finish that continues across the polymer frame, creating a consistent appearance.
Its DA/SA, blowback operation pairs with an external hammer spur, an ambidextrous slide-mounted manual safety, and a decocking lever. The sighting system uses 3-dot contrast sights with a screw-adjustable rear, allowing fine-tuning to ammunition and point of impact.
Built in Germany under contract to GSG, this pistol bears DE German proof marks on the barrel hood and shows the SIG SAUER Inc., Exeter NH importer mark. Markings include "Mosquito" on the slide and "cal. .22 long rifle" on the barrel hood. The serial number on the barrel hood and frame matches the case label.
An integral accessory rail on the dust cover supports common rail-mounted lights or training aids. The Mosquito is a 90% scale trainer analogous to the SIG P226, offering familiar ergonomics in a lightweight .22 LR format with 10+1 capacity.
