The Deluxe Rangemaster configuration provides two interchangeable vent-rib barrels: a 5-inch barrel installed on the pistol and a 3-inch barrel assembly included in the case. Both barrels use a steel liner, and the open-sight setup features a blade front and a notch rear.
The pistol runs a single-action blowback system. Its safety package includes a slide-mounted safety, a slide-mounted firing pin block, a frame-mounted safety, a magazine interlock, a magazine disconnect, and a half-cock notch.
Construction pairs a satin nickel slide and frame with black checkered synthetic grips. The frame and slide are zamak (zinc alloy) with steel inserts, and the barrel uses a steel liner. Markings include "MODEL HP22A .22LR CAL. AUTO," "Made in U.S.A.," and "PHOENIX ARMS ONTARIO, CA."
