What’s Included
- RG Industries RG 40 .38 Special revolver
The RG 40 uses a double-action/single-action system with a smooth trigger and an exposed hammer featuring a wide spur for confident thumb-cocking. Its six-shot fluted cylinder swings out to the left and uses a star extractor for positive ejection. The rectangular push-button cylinder release is located on the left side, and the ejector rod is unshrouded.
Built as a compact carry revolver, it has an approximately 2-inch barrel, an overall length of about 7 inches, and a factory-referenced weight of about 21 ounces. This size-to-weight balance keeps it easy to handle while maintaining a full six-round capacity.
The frame is a die-cast zinc alloy with its original black-coated finish now heavily worn, exposing bare alloy; the steel barrel and cylinder retain thinned bluing. Brown checkered molded plastic grips with RG medallions provide a secure hold and period-correct appearance.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed rear notch in the topstrap and a ramped front sight that includes a longitudinal lightening slot. The topstrap and barrel rib carry fine longitudinal serrations.
Markings include the "RG IND. MIAMI, FLA." roll-mark and a small circular proof/inspection-style mark on the right side forward of the cylinder. This example is U.S.-marked RG Industries Miami, Florida production.
