The APX is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm built around a modular fire-control chassis and a 4.25 in steel barrel. Capacity is 17+1, and the slide wears fixed iron sights with a white-dot front and a dovetailed rear for durability and straightforward alignment.
Ergonomics are anchored by the FDE polymer frame with textured panels, a Beretta medallion, and a finger-groove front strap. The interchangeable backstrap architecture (backstraps not included) supports the APX’s modular design, allowing users to tailor grip configuration.
Controls are thoughtfully configured with a reversible magazine release and an ambidextrous slide catch. The striker-fired system uses a blade-in-trigger safety, and there is no external manual safety. A striker deactivation feature allows disassembly without pulling the trigger.
The original-generation APX slide features full-height front and rear grasping serrations for positive manipulation and a black/gray finish that complements the FDE frame. An integral 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail is molded into the dust cover. Markings include "GARDONE V.T. MADE IN ITALY," "BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK, MD.," "PB-9x19," and "IT21."
