Patterned on the historic S&W No. 3 Schofield, this 2nd Model reproduction uses a top-break design with an automatic star extractor for simultaneous ejection. It is a six-shot revolver with a fluted cylinder and a barrel marked 45 COLT alongside a Schofield patent legend.
The revolver is built on forged steel for the barrel, frame, and receiver, all finished in blue. The latch/hinge block, hammer, and trigger guard are case-hardened, highlighting classic period-correct contrasts. The 7 in barrel uses a 1:16 RH twist.
Sight regulation is traditional and durable, with a half-moon blade front and a U-notch rear integral to the top latch. The latch itself is textured and serrated, a defining feature of the 2nd Model that provides secure purchase when opening the action.
Controls and safeguards are straightforward, including an internal hammer block safety. The revolver wears smooth two-piece walnut grips with an Uberti cartouche. Markings include import and proof information (STOEGER - ACCOKEEK, MD - A. UBERTI - ITALY) and a U.S. buttstamp.
This example is the 2nd Model series, mfg part number 8272, and is made in Italy.
