This Smith & Wesson Model 686-6 is an L-Frame, six-shot .357 Magnum revolver with a 4-inch full-lug barrel and a brushed/satin stainless finish with polished flats. The revolver is in very good overall condition with an excellent, mirror-bright bore, and it comes with the original S&W case and manual.

The Model 686-6 is built on S&W’s L-Frame, pairing a robust stainless-steel frame with a fluted stainless cylinder and a 4-inch heavy-profile barrel. The full underlug encloses the ejector rod, and the barrel rib is serrated to reduce glare; the top strap has a smooth, matte finish. The stainless construction provides durability with a brushed/satin finish and polished flats.
Sight regulation is precise and user-friendly with a pinned ramp front sight featuring an orange insert and a micrometer-adjustable rear sight. The revolver uses a double-action/single-action mechanism with an exposed, checkered hammer spur and a smooth-face trigger, allowing controlled operation in either mode.
Factory features include S&W synthetic rubber finger-groove grips for a secure hold, a checkered cylinder latch, and S&W’s internal key lock. Markings are correct throughout: the S&W crest appears on the left sideplate with the standard right-frame rollmark; the frame cut (yoke cut), visible when the cylinder is swung out, is stamped with the model and engineering change “686-6,” while the yoke/crane bears only the assembly number.
