The Scorpion EVO 3 S1 uses a semi-automatic, simple blowback, closed-bolt system in 9mm Luger. Its 7.72 inch steel barrel is threaded and features six-groove rifling with a 1:9.8 inch right-hand twist, and it includes a thread protector. Overall weight is approximately 5 lb.
Controls and ergonomics include an ambidextrous manual safety and a non-reciprocating left-side charging handle, here fitted with a red anodized knob. A red anodized skeletonized trigger shoe is installed. The receiver and frame are polymer, and the pistol is equipped with a PDW-style, dual-rod adjustable stabilizing brace.
