This M59/66 is a Yugoslav-made Zastava PAP-series, SKS-platform rifle chambered in 7.62x39 with a 22" barrel and a fixed 10-round internal magazine. It uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a tilting bolt, built on a steel receiver with a hardwood one-piece stock. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
It retains its military rifle-grenade suite: an integral spigot-type grenade launcher at the muzzle, a right-side folding grenade ladder sight, and a gas shutoff/selector on the gas block. Sighting is via a protected post front and a tangent rear with metric graduations.
Matching serial numbers were observed on the receiver, receiver cover, trigger guard, fixed magazine, stock, and bolt carrier. The bolt is stamped "0.00.004" and does not match the rifle’s serial (191138/G-191138).
The hardwood stock features a right-side lightening groove, a left-side sling loop, and a rubber buttpad. The rifle bears a clear import marking: "YUGOSLAVIA MOD. 59/66 7.62x39 M.S. LLC W. HURLEY, NY."
