The Sig Sauer P227 Full-Size stands out as the first double-stack .45 ACP in SIG's Classic P-Series, introduced in 2013 and later discontinued after a short production run. It pairs a 10+1 capacity with a 4.4 in barrel, a Nitron-finished stainless-steel slide, and a hard-coat anodized aluminum-alloy frame. The P227 delivers double-stack .45 ACP performance in the familiar Classic P-Series format. It is a full-size pistol with a standard 10+1 capacity, a 4.4 in barrel, and fixed, dovetailed 3-dot sights for a straightforward sight picture.
Construction is robust, with a stainless-steel slide finished in Nitron over a hard-coat anodized aluminum-alloy frame, all in black. Controls are the traditional P22X layout, including the slide catch, decocking lever, and takedown lever, paired with an external spurred hammer.
The recoil-operated, DA/SA action with a decocker provides a classic operating system. An E2-style one-piece textured grip enhances purchase and distributes pressure evenly around the frame for consistent control.
An integral accessory rail on the dust cover supports light or laser attachment. Factory markings are present as follows: slide marked 'SIG SAUER P227'; barrel hood marked '45 ACP SIG'; frame marked 'SIG SAUER INC., EXETER–NH–USA'. The included magazines are steel and marked 'MADE IN ITALY'.
