This Meridian Defense MDC-47 is the "Pestilence" edition from the Apocalypse Series, built by the Special Projects Division. It features a battleworn gray finish, U.S.-made stamped AKM-pattern receiver with ribbed top cover, and distinct SPD and period-style receiver markings. A 14.5-inch barrel is paired with a pinned and welded muzzle brake to achieve a non-NFA 16-inch length. An UltiMAK M1-B railed gas tube is installed, and a left-side receiver optics side rail is factory fitted.

This limited-edition "Pestilence" variant is part of Meridian Defense’s Apocalypse Series and bears Special Projects Division markings, including the SPD octopus logo on the left rear of the receiver. The battleworn gray finish complements the stamped AKM-pattern receiver and ribbed top cover for an authentic, purpose-built presentation.
The rifle uses a 14.5-inch barrel with a pinned and welded muzzle brake to achieve a 16-inch overall barrel length for non-NFA compliance. It runs a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system chambered in 7.62x39 and uses a selector safety. Capacity is 30+1, and one steel 30-round magazine is included.
Wooden furniture includes a fixed, dark-stained stock with a steel buttplate and trapdoor, a bottom sling swivel, a checkered reddish pistol grip, and a wooden lower dong-style handguard with a palm swell. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Sight and mounting features include a tangent rear sight leaf, a factory-installed left-side receiver optics side rail, and an UltiMAK M1-B railed gas tube marked "M1-B Made in USA / U.S. PAT. 6331895."
