Built on the Mosin-Nagant platform, the Finnish m/27 pairs a hex receiver and straight bolt handle with a 27-inch barrel and an internal 5-round magazine. The long ventilated handguard and combined front barrel band/nose cap reflect the m/27 pattern. It is marked "Made in Finland," aligning with its Tikkakoski manufacture.
The rifle’s sighting system consists of a front post with protective ears—the hallmark that inspired the "Pystykorva" nickname—and a tangent rear sight. A safety knob is present at the rear of the bolt. The wood stock includes a through-butt sling slot and a front sling attachment point, with a length of pull of 13.5 inches.
Factory and service markings include the Tikkakoski triangular "T" on the barrel shank, the stacked "F" over "D" indicating Finnish 7.62x53R specification with a D-166 heavy-ball throat, and the SA Finnish Army property mark. Additional marks noted are the "Made in Finland" stamp and a small "E" on the fore-end. The barrel shank is dated 1932.
Importer markings read "CAI ST. ALB. VT M27 7.62R FINLAND." The configuration and markings present an identifiable Finnish service pattern rifle with clear Tikkakoski production lineage.
