The M2.0 Metal Compact frame is aluminum alloy with a Tungsten Gray Cerakote finish, offering the compact 4.0-inch configuration with an overall length of about 7.25 inches, height of 5.0 inches, width of 1.3 inches, and a listed weight of approximately 29 ounces. The slide is finished matte gray with front and rear serrations.
The slide is optics-cut and ships with the factory cover plate installed. It uses Smith & Wesson's plate-based MRDS mounting system (C.O.R.E.), and this example includes a sealed S&W 3011897 screw and plate kit. Low-profile white three-dot sights are installed.
Controls include ambidextrous slide stop levers and a flat-faced, two-piece hinged safety trigger. This model is configured with no manual thumb safety. A three-slot Picatinny accessory rail is integrated into the dustcover. Capacity is 15+1, and two factory 15-round steel magazines are included.
Markings include a slide rollmark of "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A." and a frame marked "SMITH & WESSON Maryville, TN USA." The dustcover serial number matches the factory case label. Note: the case label is printed 'M&P9 METAL M2.0 4" TS' (S&W uses "TS" to denote the Thumb Safety variant), but this pistol is configured with no manual thumb safety; this is the original box with a mis-marked TS label.
