What’s Included
- F.lli Pietta 1873 SA El Malo .45 Colt revolver (as described)
The El Malo configuration pairs a color case-hardened steel frame and hammer with a blued steel barrel and fluted six-shot cylinder. The octagonal 5.5 in barrel is matched with a bullseye-style ejector head for a classic profile, and the one-piece smooth walnut plow-handle grip provides a traditional hold. Fixed sights consist of a tall blade front and a frame-notch rear for a period-correct sight picture.
Markings are clear and well-executed: the left barrel flat reads "EL MALO .45 COLT"; the underside barrel is marked "1873 SA PIETTA-ITALY"; the top barrel shows "CIMARRON FIREARMS Co., FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS." The left side of the frame carries the two-line 1871/1872 patent legend. Italian proof house stamps appear on the barrel, cylinder, and frame, along with a boxed "20" proof/date code.
This revolver is a recent-release reproduction of the classic 1873 single action, manufactured by F.lli Pietta in Italy with Cimarron branding. The steel construction throughout, color case-hardened receiver and frame components, and blued barrel and cylinder create a durable, traditional finish combination.
Configured as a single-action only revolver chambered in .45 Colt with a six-round, fluted cylinder, the El Malo delivers the hallmark handling of the 1873 pattern in a full-size format. The tall blade front sight and frame-notch rear maintain the authentic fixed-sight setup.
