The 16-inch barrel is 4150 CMV steel, cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, phosphate coated, and cut to a government profile. It is threaded and fitted with a flash suppressor secured by a crush washer. The barrel is marked 'DD 5.56 NATO 1/7' and uses a 1:7 twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56/.223 projectiles.
The rifle features a mid-length gas system and direct-impingement operation for consistent cycling. Standard controls include a manual safety with SAFE/SEMI selector markings, a forward assist, and an ejection-port cover. The dust cover is marked '5.56' to match the chambering.
The Daniel Defense MFR 15.0 M-LOK free-float rail is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and provides a continuous top Picatinny rail with T-marked slots for precise accessory placement. The handguard rollmark includes US Patent No. 7,716,865. Free-float construction helps keep accessories clear of barrel contact.
The 7075-T6 aluminum receiver set bears the factory markings: the upper is marked 'DDM4V7' and the lower reads 'DANIEL DEFENSE BLACK CREEK, GA U.S.A. MODEL DDM4 CAL. MULTI.' Furniture includes an adjustable polymer stock with sling socket and a Daniel Defense pistol grip with textured panels. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
