A. Uberti Paterson No. 5 Holster Model .36 Texas Commemorative by the American Historical Foundation, Gold-Plated, Factory-Engraved, 9 in Octagonal Barrel, 1988, No. 135 of 950, Cased Set
This A. Uberti Paterson No. 5 Holster Model is an American Historical Foundation Texas Commemorative, produced in 1988 and numbered No. 135 of a limited run of 950. It features factory full-coverage engraving over a gold-plated finish, a 9 inch octagonal barrel, and the hallmark folding trigger of the Paterson design.
Italian proof marks with the AT (1988) year code confirm its date and origin. The set is complemented by a comprehensive presentation ensemble with period-style accessories and a spare cylinder.
The American Historical Foundation commissioned this limited-edition tribute to the iconic Texas-associated Paterson. Uberti’s reproduction captures the Holster Model’s lines and mechanical layout, with markings that include the Patent Arms Paterson barrel address and a cylinder scene band with frontier motifs and PAT.N marking. The buttstrap is engraved “No. 135 of 950,” denoting its place in the series.
Decoration and finish are central to this commemorative. The pistol is gold-plated with full-coverage scroll engraving on the barrel, frame, recoil shields, hammer, and backstrap. The cylinder carries an engraved scene band, and the small front bead and wedge-retained long octagonal barrel complete the correct profile.
Faithful mechanical details include the single-action percussion system and the characteristic folding trigger. The grips are a one-piece dark hardwood with a high-gloss finish. Italian proof marks, the PN black-powder proof, and the AT year code “1988” are present, noting its Italian manufacture and black-powder certification.
This example comes as a fully outfitted presentation, including both a glass-top display case and a fitted wooden case with burgundy lining, along with a period-style accessory suite: a blued spare cylinder with scene band, snail capper, Paterson multi-spout brass powder flask/charger, cleaning rod, ball mold, and the Paterson combination tool/loader. It is a complete commemorative set ready for display.
