Built at State Factory 54 (Maadi Arsenal) and made in Egypt, this Hakim follows the Ljungman-derived, gas-operated direct-impingement layout with an adjustable regulator tailored to the Hakim pattern. The 25.1 inch barrel is paired with a cylindrical muzzle brake surrounded by a perforated shroud, characteristic of this model; the gas tube above the barrel is smooth and non‑perforated. The detachable 10-round magazine provides a stated capacity of 10+1.
Sighting equipment consists of a hooded front sight and a tangent rear sight for precise elevation adjustments. The rifle wears a full-length hardwood stock and an exposed perforated metal muzzle-brake shroud (barrel jacket) with no separate wooden upper handguard present, complemented by a Swedish-style brass stock disc with graduations and a steel buttplate. One barrel band and an under-barrel cleaning rod complete the classic service-rifle configuration. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Markings are extensive and informative. Importation is denoted by "CAI ST ALB VT" on the smooth gas tube above the barrel. The left side of the receiver shows Swedish-style inspection and date markings, including "1943" over a crowned "C," with inspector initials "S.B" and "S.S." Matching serial markings are observed on the receiver, buttplate, and electro‑penciled bolt cover.
The receiver is milled steel, reflecting the robust construction typical of this pattern. Stock furniture includes a brass stock disc and steel buttplate, aligning with the service-oriented design. The combination of the adjustable gas system, long barrel, and integral brake helps define the Hakim’s distinctive handling and operation.
