Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Specific Condition Notes: There are scratches and blemishes present. Small deposits of pitting are present in infrequent locations. There is pitting on the rib. The locking lug is nearing the 6 o'clock position; inspection and service (refreshment or replacement) are recommended. The barrel fit is tight.
Both firing pins show small spots of pitting at the tips. The stock has a very slight right-hand cast off.

Stock and forend appointments are true to the Lightning style. The walnut stock has a high-gloss finish and a round-knob pistol grip, paired with a ventilated recoil pad and white line spacer. Up front, a checkered slim field/splinter-style forend with Browning latch assembly offers a secure grip. There is a very slight right-hand cast off for natural handling.
Origin and markings are well documented. The gun bears Belgian Liege proofmarks and the barrel rollmarks include "Special Steel" along with U.S. patent numbers 2205379 and 2353851. Additional markings read "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL P.Q., MADE IN BELGIUM," underscoring its Belgian manufacture in 1970.
