The Ares Defense Systems SCR-2 blends AR-15 platform compatibility with a sporter-style stock and cross-bolt safety, offering a distinctive configuration within the SCR series. This USA-made rifle features a 16.25-inch barrel, a flat-top upper with a full-length Picatinny rail, a free-float aluminum handguard with a full-length Picatinny rail on top and a Picatinny rail on the bottom (smooth/vented sides), and low-profile flip-up sights installed. It comes with five 10-round AR-15/STANAG-pattern metal magazines and is in very good overall condition with an excellent bore.

The SCR-2 is part of the Ares Defense Systems SCR series and is built on the AR-15 platform with a semi-automatic, direct-impingement action. It uses standard AR-15/STANAG magazines and is configured for a 10+1 capacity. A cross-bolt safety replaces the typical AR selector, aligning with the rifle’s sporter configuration.
Its upper is a flat-top design with a full-length Picatinny rail and an ejection-port cover. The free-float aluminum handguard provides a full-length top Picatinny rail and a bottom Picatinny rail, with smooth/vented sides for lighter weight and heat dissipation. The muzzle is threaded with a thread protector installed (no brake/flash hider).
The polymer stock is a sporter/Monte Carlo style with molded grip texturing, a sling-stud hole, and an A/SCR logo buttplate. Length of pull is 13.0 inches, offering a traditional shouldering feel while maintaining AR-15 magazine compatibility and manual of arms.
Receivers are aluminum with a matte black finish, and the lower is marked "MULTI-CALIBER." Low-profile flip-up front and rear sights are installed, and the rifle is made in the USA.
