Built on a polymer frame with molded stippling and interchangeable backstraps, the CC9 uses a semi-automatic, striker-fired, short-recoil (Browning-type) action. Safety features include a trigger safety, firing pin block, drop safety, and out-of-battery safety, with a bladed trigger shoe.
The 3.25 in cold hammer-forged steel barrel features polygonal rifling and is +P rated, with a 1:9.8 RH twist. HK states the platform was tested to NATO AC/225 and MIL-STD protocols for durability and function.
Controls are fully ambidextrous with mirrored slide-stop levers and an ambidextrous button-style magazine release. The slide has front and rear serrations, and the frame integrates an accessory rail. Overall length is 6.03 in and width is 0.99 in; unloaded weight (without magazine) is 18.4 oz.
Iron sights include a tritium front and a drift-adjustable square-notch rear, delivering a 5.12 in sight radius. The slide is optics-ready with a direct-mount RMSc/407K footprint. The pistol is marked "HK Columbus, GA" and "Made in USA." Capacity is 12+1 with the included 12- and 10-round steel magazines.
