Controls and safeties include DA/SA operation with an external, partially shrouded hammer and a decocking lever. Additional built-in safeties are the automatic firing pin safety, safety intercept notch, and disconnector. The magazine release is heel-style.
Sights are fixed high-contrast, with a fixed front and a drift-adjustable rear. Markings include MADE IN GERMANY with EXETER, NH import designation. This example is identified by mfg part number 232-380-T and was manufactured in 2008. The model is discontinued, and U.S. imports of German-made P232 pistols ended in July 2014.
