The Ruger SR-556 is a piston-driven AR-15 that combines a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined heavy barrel with a two-stage adjustable gas system. This 2015 example features a Ruger/Troy 10 in modular handguard with smooth sides and bolt-on rail sections, a full-length T-marked Picatinny top rail, and a chrome-plated bolt carrier with the Ruger phoenix emblem. It ships with both 30- and 10-round PMAGs, plus a sling and the original SR-556 owner’s manual.

The SR-556 uses a short-stroke, two-stage adjustable gas piston system and a chrome-plated bolt carrier marked with the Ruger phoenix emblem. Controls include a manual safety and a standard right-hand magazine release.
The 16 in barrel is made from 41V45 steel, is cold hammer-forged, and features a chrome-lined bore and chamber. It has a heavy contour with 1/2x28 threads and an A2-style flash suppressor. Twist rate is 1:9 RH.
The rifle is outfitted with a Ruger/Troy 10 in modular handguard (smooth-sided with bolt-on rail sections) and a full-length T-marked Picatinny top rail. A Hogue rubber pistol grip and a 6-position, collapsible M4-style stock provide a solid, adjustable interface; length of pull is 13.5 in.
Receiver markings include "RUGER NEWPORT, NH USA" with the model rollmarked "SR-556." This rifle is chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 30+1 capacity and was manufactured in 2015 in the USA.
