The FN 509 Tactical is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm built on a polymer frame with aggressive texturing for control. Both the frame and steel slide wear a Flat Dark Earth finish with black controls, and the slide features front and rear serrations for confident manipulation. Ambidextrous slide stop levers and a left-side push-button magazine release support efficient handling.
Its 4.5-inch stainless steel barrel is extended and threaded 1/2x28, cold hammer-forged for durability, and fitted with a knurled thread protector with O-ring retention. Suppressor-height iron sights with a single-dot front provide a clear sight picture over the extended muzzle device area.
This example includes functional upgrades: a flared magazine well funnel to speed reloads and a flat-faced trigger with an integral safety blade. An Apex Tactical Heavy Duty Striker is included in the package but not installed, offering an option for future customization.
Capacity is 24+1 with the included 24-round magazines, and 17+1 with the included 17-round magazine. The pistol retains an integral MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail and a trigger safety with no manual safety.
