Made at Izhevsk Arsenal in 1943, this rifle features the round receiver associated with mid-war production. The barrel shank is marked with the Izhevsk crest above the year "1943г," alongside Cyrillic inspection and acceptance markings. An importer-applied Latin serial is present, and the left side shows the RGUNS Carpentersville IL import mark.
The rifle follows the standard 91/30 long-rifle pattern with a 29 in barrel, bayonet lug and socket-bayonet interface, and a straight bolt handle. It feeds 7.62x54R from a five-round fixed internal magazine with a hinged floorplate and can be loaded with single rounds or stripper clips.
Furniture is the classic hardwood stock with sling slots and metal liners, paired with a standard handguard featuring metal endcaps and a steel buttplate. The sights are traditional iron sights: a hooded post front and a tangent rear. Metal components carry a blued finish on the steel receiver and barrel.
The action is bolt-action with a cocking-piece safety. Length of pull measures 13.25 in. Non-matching assembly numbers are present on components, consistent with arsenal-assembled rifles of this type.
