The BLR Model 81L is the long-action BLR configuration designed for cartridges like the 7mm Rem. Mag. This rifle uses a detachable box magazine and side ejection, and it has a flat-sided, blued steel receiver with three domed cross pins. The lever displays the Browning Buckmark, and the trigger is gold-colored.
The 24-inch barrel is roll-marked "MODEL 81L BLR CALIBER 7MM REM MAG ONLY" along with the Browning address. Sights include a ramped front with bead and a barrel-mounted rear. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and this rifle comes fitted with a Redfield Illuminator riflescope in S&K rings. Factory capacity for this chambering is 3+1.
The walnut stock and forend have a gloss finish and bordered multi-line checkering, with a pistol-grip layout for confident handling. Sling swivel studs are fitted—front in the forend wood just behind the barrel band (the band itself has no stud), and rear in the buttstock. An aftermarket Limbsaver recoil pad is installed, setting length of pull at 14.0 inches.
Markings include "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q., MADE IN JAPAN." The detachable magazine’s top plate is stamped "BLR 81L 7MM MAG" and "JAPAN," matching the rifle’s chambering and series designation.
