The Officer's ACP design delivers a compact 1911 profile in .45 ACP with a 3.5-inch barrel and a 6+1 capacity. This example pairs a bushing-fitted barrel with the Officer's dual recoil-spring system and a slotted recoil spring plug, a setup Colt developed specifically for this model.
The stainless construction includes a matte/brushed slide and a matte stainless frame. The smooth frontstrap maintains a clean profile, and the double-diamond checkered wood panels provide classic 1911 ergonomics.
Slide details include a lowered and flared ejection port and vertical rear cocking serrations. Sighting is straightforward with fixed three-dot sights: a dovetailed front blade with a white dot and a serrated, dovetailed rear with two white dots.
This MK IV/Series 80 variant uses a single-action trigger with the Series 80 firing pin safety, plus a left-side thumb safety and grip safety. It is equipped with a lightweight three-hole trigger and a Commander-style rowel hammer.
Manufactured in the USA in 1999 (mfg part number 09180XS), this Officer's ACP reflects Colt's compact 1911 line that was introduced in 1985. It ships with the factory-labeled Colt hard case and two 6-round magazines, including one from Wilson Combat.
