Zastava ZPAP85 SBR 5.56 NATO, 10-inch CHF Chrome-Lined Barrel, Folding Metal Stock, Hinged Top Cover with Picatinny Rail
This Zastava ZPAP85 has been professionally converted to a short-barreled rifle in 5.56 NATO and configured for compact handling with a right-side folding, skeletonized metal stock. It features a 10-inch cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel with threads, a hinged top cover with an integral Picatinny rail, and iron sight provisions. The rifle includes four 30-round magazines and two muzzle devices, offering a complete, ready-to-run package in a proven Serbian-made platform.
Built on a stamped 1.5 mm steel receiver with a bulged front trunnion and a slab-sided profile (no AKM-style magazine well dimples), this ZPAP85 retains the robust M85 lineage while adding practical upgrades. The stock setup provides a 13-inch length of pull, and the selector includes a bolt hold-open notch. Wood handguards with elongated vent slots and a black polymer AK-pattern grip round out a configuration that blends classic construction with modern usability.

This SBR conversion adds a right-side folding, skeletonized metal stock with a cheek pad, rubber buttpad, and locking hinge, yielding a compact footprint while maintaining a 13.0-inch length of pull. The action is semi-automatic with a long-stroke gas piston system. The selector is marked SAFE/FIRE and includes a bolt hold-open notch for administrative handling.
The 10-inch barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome-lined, and threaded. A JMac blast-can muzzle device is installed, and the original Zastava conical booster is included. Note: the JMac blast can does not thread all the way onto the barrel. It is hand tightened to the threading.
Topside, a hinged dust cover incorporates an integral Picatinny rail, and the rifle features a front sight/gas block assembly. Wood upper and lower handguards with elongated vents and a black polymer AK-pattern pistol grip provide a balanced, durable interface.
Receiver markings read “MDL: ZPAP 85 CAL 5.56 x 45MM,” with import markings “ZASTAVA ARMS USA DES PLAINES IL” and “ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA.” A CIP proof is observed near the serial area. The stamped 1.5 mm receiver features a bulged front trunnion and a slab-sided construction without AKM-style dimples, consistent with the model’s Yugo-pattern design.
