The Model 7600 uses a pump-action system with a rotating multi-lug bolt that locks into the barrel extension and runs on dual action bars. It feeds from detachable steel box magazines and carries a 3+1 capacity in .270 Win.
The 22-inch, free-floated barrel is finished in blue and paired with open sights: a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear leaf on a stepped base. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics, and this rifle is presently set up with a mounted Traditions variable-power scope using a duplex reticle.
The walnut stock shows a gloss finish and a Monte Carlo comb with pressed checkering and sling swivel studs. The matching walnut fore-end is checkered and fitted with a black tip and white spacer. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches for a traditional hunting-rifle fit.
Factory-pressed engraving highlights wildlife scenes: two bears on the left panel and two deer on the right panel. This is the standard 22-inch rifle configuration (not the carbine) and was manufactured in Ilion, New York, USA during the 1996–2004 timeframe.
