The MK II series of the Model 1400 uses a gas-operated semi-automatic action and an alloy receiver with bright silver side panels. It ejects to the right and uses a right-side bolt handle. Capacity is 2+1.
The 28 inch steel barrel is marked Winchester Proof Steel and is topped with a ventilated rib for a clean sighting plane. It is fitted with a fixed Modified choke and a single front bead. Chambering is 2 3/4 in (12 gauge), as specified.
Furniture consists of a checkered wood forend and a pistol-grip stock. The stock is capped with an orange ventilated Winchester recoil pad with white/black spacers. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
