This Springfield Armory Hellion stands out as the U.S. import adaptation of the Croatian HS Produkt VHS-2, combining a compact bullpup layout with fully ambidextrous controls and reversible ejection. It features a 16 in CMV steel barrel that is cold hammer forged and Melonite treated, a two-position gas regulator labeled Normal/Suppressed, integrated flip-up diopter sights, and a full-length numbered Picatinny top rail/carry-handle. It is AR-pattern magazine compatible and includes two 30-round magazines, the original case, and a short vertical foregrip installed.

The Hellion uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a two-position regulator for Normal and Suppressed settings. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety, magazine release, and bolt release, and the charging handle is ambidextrous, forward, and non-reciprocating. Ejection is reversible without parts changes; this rifle is currently configured for right-side ejection.
The 16 in barrel is CMV steel, cold hammer forged, and Melonite treated, with a 1:7 RH twist for 5.56 NATO. The barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-style birdcage flash hider. Capacity is 30+1 with AR-pattern magazine compatibility.
Ergonomics include an adjustable 5-position stock with cheek riser and a 16.25 in length of pull. Overall length is adjustable from 28.25 to 29.75 in, and the rifle weighs 8 lb. The polymer M-LOK handguard provides accessory mounting at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.
Sighting and mounting options are built in: a full-length numbered Picatinny top rail/carry-handle and integrated spring-loaded flip-up iron sights, with a front sight that is elevation adjustable and a rear 5-position diopter that is windage adjustable.
Markings include SPRINGFIELD ARMORY GENESEO, IL and HS PRODUKT/MADE IN CROATIA, reflecting its Croatian manufacture and U.S. import by Springfield Armory. The rifle is finished in black polymer with a matching black receiver.
