The Kuna operates on a roller-delayed blowback system and is marked KUNA on the receiver. It uses a monolithic aluminum upper with a polymer lower and includes ambidextrous controls, including an ambidextrous manual safety. A reversible forward charging handle is fitted and observed on the left side.
The 6 inch cold hammer-forged barrel is threaded and comes with a factory multi-port muzzle brake. This configuration aims to keep the compact length while offering threaded-barrel utility straight from the factory.
A full-length, numbered Picatinny top rail runs the upper, and the polymer fore-end includes accessory and vent slots. The hybrid flip-up metal sights provide two sight pictures, with a flip-up front that presents a folded U-notch with a white dot and a rear that offers an upright aperture/ring.
Ergonomics include an AR-pattern textured pistol grip and the Strike Industries FSA stabilizing brace that folds to the left and incorporates a QD sling socket. The curved translucent polymer magazine has 10/20/30 witness marks; combined with the pistol’s configuration, the capacity is 30+1.
Manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported/marketed by Springfield Armory, the pistol carries import and origin markings reading Springfield Armory - Geneseo, IL and HS Produkt Karlovac - Made in Croatia.
