The 22-inch stainless steel National Match barrel with a medium-contour profile is purpose-built for precision in 6.5 Creedmoor, paired with a 1:8 RH twist. The factory cylindrical multiported muzzle brake helps manage recoil and muzzle movement. The barrel is roll-marked "NM 6.5 CM SS" for quick identification.
Built on the M14 platform, this M1A uses the standard short-stroke gas system with the gas cylinder under the front sight area. It operates via a gas-operated, rotating bolt action and feeds from detachable box magazines, offering a 20+1 capacity with standard 20-round magazines.
Sighting is handled by a click-adjustable aperture rear (windage and elevation) with a 0.0520-inch aperture and a protected front post with a 0.062-inch blade. These sights provide fine, repeatable adjustments suitable for the 6.5 Creedmoor chambering.
The black composite GI-pattern stock is fixed and includes sling swivels, with molded texturing panels for grip. A polymer upper handguard completes the classic M14 profile. Length of pull is 13.5 inches, and the buttplate carries the Springfield Armory logo.
