The rifle follows the M16A4-style configuration with a flat-top upper receiver and a detachable carry handle providing an A2 rear sight, paired with a fixed front sight base that includes a bayonet lug. The A2-style, rifle-length two-piece polymer handguards and fixed stock give it a classic, duty-style layout with a listed length of pull of 13.75 in.
The 20 in barrel is chrome-lined and marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7, confirming its chambering and twist rate. The threaded muzzle wears an A2 flash hider. This setup is appropriate for 5.56 NATO loads and stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights consistent with a 1:7 twist.
Receivers are forged aluminum alloy with a hard-anodized finish. Markings include the right-side receiver legend COLT DEFENSE, HARTFORD, CONN., U.S.A., and a lower rollmark with the Rampant Colt over CARBINE over CAL. 5.56 MM. The lower carries a CR-prefix serial and a magwell UID/QR data matrix.
The rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement action and standard AR-15 controls. A charging handle with an extended/oversize latch is installed for easier manipulation. Capacity is 30+1 with the included windowed Magpul PMAG. Country of origin is the United States, and the listed manufacture period is 2020–2021.
