The MCX Virtus operating system uses a short-stroke gas piston with a two-position adjustable gas regulator for reliable function in both suppressed and unsuppressed configurations. The internal recoil system allows operation with the stock folded, giving the platform compact handling without external buffer requirements.
The 11-inch steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and designed for quick changes within the Virtus system. It is threaded and fitted with a three-prong flash hider, providing practical muzzle control and compatibility with common muzzle devices.
A full-length monolithic 1913 top rail provides a continuous mounting surface. The Virtus-pattern free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard includes cutouts that expose the gas regulator for easy access while maintaining a rigid, ventilated interface.
Ambidextrous controls include the safety selector, magazine release, and charging handle. The side-folding minimal stock with a polymer body and metal strut pairs with a SIG SAUER polymer pistol grip, and the length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
The aluminum-alloy receivers wear a Stealth Gray finish and are marked with a Virtus plate, SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER on the magwell, and SIG SAUER INC., EXETER-NH-USA. This configuration ships without sights, keeping the top rail clear for the user’s preferred optics or sighting solution.
