This 2024 Ruger AR-556 MPR pairs an 18-inch cold-hammer-forged, nitrided, 5R barrel with a rifle-length gas system and Ruger’s Elite 452 two-stage trigger. The rifle uses 7075-T6 forged receivers with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish and a 15-inch free-float M-LOK handguard with a continuous top Picatinny rail. It ships with three magazines and practical M-LOK accessories already installed.

The MPR configuration brings an 18-inch alloy steel barrel that is cold-hammer-forged, nitrided, and 5R rifled with a 1:8 twist. Threads are 1/2x28, and a cylindrical radial-port muzzle brake is installed at the factory thread shoulder.
The rifle-length gas system and direct-impingement action are paired with a flat-top upper that includes a dust cover, case deflector, and forward assist. The Ruger 15-inch free-float handguard provides M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock and a continuous 12-o’clock Picatinny rail.
Controls and furniture include the Ruger Elite 452 two-stage trigger set at approximately 4.5 lb, a collapsible polymer stock with an 11.0-inch length of pull, and a Magpul MOE pistol grip. Capacity is 30+1 with standard AR-pattern magazines.
The receivers are 7075-T6 forged aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. Markings include "RUGER – MAYODAN, NC USA" and the Ruger phoenix crest; the barrel is marked "5.56 NATO 1-8," and the lower receiver is marked "AR-556."
