The HK45 Compact runs a DA/SA, recoil-operated, modified Browning tilting barrel system with an exposed hammer. Its frame-mounted safety/decocker supports both cocked-and-locked carry and safe decocking, offering versatile carry and administrative handling options.
The 3.90 in cold hammer-forged barrel uses right-hand polygonal rifling for durability and easy maintenance. Sights are fixed iron with a single-dot front post and a low-profile rear notch, paired with a 6.04 in sight radius for a clear and consistent sight picture.
Dimensions are well-suited to a compact .45 ACP: overall length 7.24 in, height 5.51 in, width 1.54 in. Unloaded weight without a magazine is 28.57 oz. Capacity is 8+1, and the pistol accepts both 8-round HK45C and 10-round HK45 magazines.
Controls are user-friendly and ambidextrous where it matters, including the paddle-style magazine release. The polymer frame has stippled grip inserts and interchangeable backstraps to tailor fit. An integral 4-slot MIL-STD-1913 rail under the dust cover accommodates compatible accessories.
