What’s Included
- ASFA Model 1938 bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.92x57mm Mauser
- Installed scope mount and rings
- Cleaning rod
Built on a large-ring Mauser 98 action, this rifle retains the controlled-round-feed design, a manual safety, and a bolt shroud gas shield. The internal magazine is a 5-round staggered-column design, consistent with the Model 1938 pattern.
Arsenal work from 1961 is evident, with the barrel shank stamped 1961 alongside the Turkish crescent/star. Additional markings include an ASFA arsenal mark on the receiver left wall, a barrel stamp of 8 MM, an underside tang marking of A5.208, underside bottom metal marked 08 with a small crescent, a circled X inspection/proof, and the bolt handle root stamped 179.
The rifle has been sporterized: the receiver is drilled and tapped, and it carries an installed scope mount with rings (no optic installed). The bolt handle is turned down with a polished round knob, and a Pachmayr Old English recoil pad with white-line spacers sets the length of pull at 13.75 inches.
The hardwood stock is a full-length military pattern with a steel nosecap, a rear sling swivel mounted on the underside of the buttstock, a front sling loop on the mid barrel band, and a cleaning rod channel with the rod present. The upper handguard is absent, and no front sight is visible; sights type is noted as none.
