Produced by SKB in Japan for Ithaca, this XL-series autoloader carries factory markings including "CUSTOM CRAFTED FOR ITHACA BY SKB," "PROOF TESTED," "MADE IN JAPAN," "ROTO FORGED," and "MOD choke." It dates to the 1973–1977 production window and represents the Japanese-made Ithaca era with quality fit and finish.
The action is a gas-operated semi-automatic system with right-side ejection and a right-side charging handle. Capacity is 4+1 with a 2 3/4-inch chamber, and controls include a cross-bolt safety with a red fire indicator. The polished bolt and smooth cycling complement the XL 300’s field-focused design.
The 28-inch plain (no vent rib) field barrel is ROTO FORGED and fitted with a fixed Modified choke for versatile 20 gauge performance. A single front bead provides a clean sight picture suitable for field use.
The receiver is a lightweight alloy unit with scroll engraving on both sides from the factory. The wood stock and long field-style forend feature cut checkering with scalloped borders, paired with a black molded Ithaca buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
