The ACR’s robust operating system and materials set the foundation of this rifle. It uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, paired to an aluminum upper and a polymer lower receiver. The matte black finish is uniform throughout, and the rifle is made in the United States.
The 16.5-inch steel barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-style flash suppressor. It is magnetic particle inspected and employs a quick-change design, with the retention hardware visible on the assembly. Barrel markings read "B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9," and the twist rate is 1:9 to match common 5.56 NATO loads.
This is a state-compliant configuration. The magazine release has been removed/blocked; a tool must be inserted to release the magazine. Capacity is limited to 10+1. The rifle accepts detachable AR-15/STANAG-pattern magazines, and 10-round magazines are included.
Furniture and controls are practical and adaptable. The polymer handguard features elongated slots, and the receiver carries a full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail. Sights are polymer flip-up front and rear. The stock is polymer, telescoping, and adjustable for length of pull from 11 to 14 inches, with a rubber buttpad and a QD sling socket at the butt. A forward sling loop provides an additional attachment point.
An ambidextrous safety selector is standard.
Markings and details round out the package: the ejection-port cover is marked "MULTICAL," and the receiver roll marks read "MODEL—BACR CALIBER—MULTI" and "B.F.I. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A."
