What’s Included
- Koishikawa (Tokyo) Arsenal Type 26 revolver
The Type 26 is a DAO top-break revolver with a spurless internal hammer and automatic star extraction. Its cylinder is free-wheeling at rest, and the design uses a large hinged sideplate. Fixed sights consist of a blade front and a rear notch cut into the topstrap.
Chambered for the original 9x22mmR cartridge, it is not interchangeable with .38 S&W. The revolver feeds from a six-shot fluted cylinder and features a 4.7 in barrel. A one-piece checkered wood grip is fitted with a steel buttcap and lanyard ring.
Steel construction is used throughout the frame, barrel, and receiver. Markings include the Tokyo/Koishikawa three interlocking circles emblem and the Kanji legend for Type 26, aligning with its production at the Koishikawa (Tokyo) Arsenal.
Manufactured in 1904-1905, this example comes from the Russo-Japanese War period and represents a service sidearm used by the Imperial Japanese Army from the 1890s through WWII. Its original operating system and proprietary chambering underscore its place in early 20th-century Japanese military arms.
