The Emissary's forged-steel slide and frame wear a uniform black Cerakote finish, complemented by a squared trigger guard and a lightly beveled magazine well for efficient reloads. The front strap and mainspring housing feature a grenade texture that matches the slim black G10 grips from VZ Grips.
Its 5 in stainless steel bull barrel is bushingless and treated with black nitride. The single-action, short-recoil operating system is paired with a flat-faced, solid-body trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer.
Springfield's tri-top slide includes a serrated top strap to cut glare and front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation. Sighting is through the Tactical Rack U-Dot set: a tritium/luminescent front dot with a yellow/green ring and a U-notch Tactical Rack rear.
The dust cover integrates a 3-slot Picatinny rail for lights or accessories. Safety features include a single-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump. Slide markings read "EMISSARY" with the right side "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and crossed-cannons crest; the barrel hood is marked "S.A. .45 AUTO," and the frame is marked "GENESEO IL USA."
